The Best of Times Cooking

Inspired by the story of a woman who lost all her recipes in a fire, along with her cook book colllection, I signed on to help replace some with my own favorite recipies. Once I got started, I realized this was one way to make my recipes available to my nearest and dearest if they will bookmark the blog.

Swedish Apple Pie

Quick, foolproof, makes the kitchen smell great, last-minute, and wildly popular—since I was given this recipe 20-plus years ago, I have rarely bothered with a regular apple pie.

Swedish Apple Pie

5 Granny Smith or MacIntosh apples, peeled and sliced
3 tablespoons sugar
1 teaspoon cinnamon
1 cup flour
1 cup sugar
1 egg
1/2 cup butter melted

Place apples in pie plate and season with sugar and cinnamon. In bowl, mix sugar, flour and egg. Add melted butter and combine to moisten. Spread evenly over apples. Bake 45 mintues or until top is golden. Serve with vanilla ice cream.
